FORMEL EINS
The music charts showcase, Formel Eins, was seen by eight million Germans every week from 1983 to 1990, when six international bands/ singers performed to playback in Halle 10 at Bavaria Studios near Munich. Stevie Wonder, George Harrison, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, Madonna, Nick Cave - the cream of ‘80s music graced the gritty stage sets. (East German fans had to watch it illegally. They were forbidden to talk about it at school.)
Weixl created the Formel Eins and Teasy logos, designed hundreds of stage sets and introduced the hot pink Studebaker. She collaborated with the British animation director, Ken Dowsing, on three animated show trailers, the design of 21 compilation hits LP covers and dozens of animated Teasy mascot inserts.
